This is often the time when it’s SO busy and maybe you are thinking about getting started on your new year’s resolution early. There are some important things to take into account so you don’t actually work against yourself!
It’s so important to NOT…
1. Cut calories – we all ate those holiday cookies or had that extra glass of wine! Enjoying treats over the holidays is wonderful. But it can be easy to want to overcompensate by cutting calories immediately after Christmas. This restriction will most likely crash your metabolism and increase cravings!
2. Wait until January 1 – The mindset around waiting until the perfect date or perfect condition to start taking care of yourself will also be damaging. There will always be excuses to wait, but it’s much better to take smaller steps and start today!
3. Over exercise – punishing your body in the gym for things you enjoyed over the holidays is not sustainable or a positive way to achieve your health goals!
It’s really important to focus on ways to optimize your nutrition, heal your gut and take care of your hormones instead of beating yourself up over the fun treats during the holidays.
