Don’t skip breakfast!
Skipping breakfast is a popular diet tactic to decrease calories throughout the day.
In general, this can do more harm than good for the female body! The exception to this is planned intermittent fasting AFTER the body is fully primed and ready for it.
Why can skipping breakfast be so harmful?
Increased cortisol & stress. This will kick your body into fat storage mode!
Decreased/irregular blood sugar levels. This will set you up for more cravings and binges throughout the day.
Decreased digestive function. Overall, this reduces your detoxification of hormones which is essential for hormone regulation.
Knowing your hormone levels is essential to preparing the body for fasting in the right way. This is one of the reasons I love DUTCH hormone testing so much!
Once we have those levels, we can prime the body nutritionally and regulate things so that fasting is a positive experience with huge benefits!
