Also, your immune system lives in your digestive tract, so if you are struggling with these issues, this is not the time to push your body and put it under stress.

– If you have inflammation in your gut, it will slow down your metabolism
– Even if you are eating “clean”, your gut issues will prevent proper breakdown, processing and absorption of nutrients. This, in turn, slows down your metabolism
